Long Live the Block!
April 4, 2008
That’s right friends, our childhood dreams are finally coming true. New Kids on the Block are back!!
As a kid, I was obsessed with this group. My cousin and I knew every song, and we absolutely loved them. She was going to marry Jordan and I was going to marry Joey. And who knows how many posters I had hanging in my room. And then came the heartache when the band broke up . . .
So imagine how excited I was to hear a few months ago that they were coming back. They were on the Today show this morning to announce the reunion. Start counting the days ladies, cause they’re going to perform May 16th on the morning show! Hopefully there will be a tour to follow, cause you know I’ll be there front and center.

I’m as excited as you are! I slept through the Today Show today so I missed them….rats! I think I’ll be considering concert tickets as well if they tour..depending on life at the time. I wonder what the audience would look like? Do you think it’ll be full of old farts like us singing along, waving our lighters, and holding signs that say I love you Jordan? HAHA!! Thats kind of a funny picture! I so wish I would have saved my NKOTB videos and T shirt! They’d be considered vintage by now!
I also had to comment on your previous post. I think we need to set boundaries in terms of internet/media usage. Honestly, I think there are going to be huge ramifications in years to come b/c of myspace (just one example). Myspace allows you to say what you want w/o being held accountable and I just think that ranking your friends has got to be psychologically damaging. Plus, social skills are going to plumit because kids aren’t interacting face to face anymore. AHH!!! These are just two reasons…I could go on! But, you get the point. I canceled my texting ability just b/c it was annoying and consuming. Come on people, just call me! Once again…we need boundaries!
